DAY 1 DATE - 21.4.2020

Good morning dear students and parents,

Hope you all are fine and doing your best. Am sure you have completed yesterday's assignments. Boys, its very important to keep revising the concepts taught and practice reading daily. Also keep practicing for the Asset test which is in the month of August. Let's start with today's work.

7:30 - 7:45 - Join your hands, close your eyes and say the Lord's Prayer.
Heartfulness - Sit in a comfortable position and lets start with some breathing exercises. Keep yourself calm and stay positive. You will feel energized and relaxed. Play any soothing music in the background or the link that I sent.

7:45 - 7:55 - AQAD
Do this Aqad question in your E.V.S. notebook. Write the heading AQAD.
1.An animal that hops
o cheetah     o bear      o kangaroo
2. We remove it from every corner of our room.
o dustbin      o cobwebs     o paint

1st period - English Language
LO - Learners will be able to:
*Recalls and recognizes the punctuation marks.
*Memorizes what each punctuation mark means.

Boys we have done punctuations in class 2 as well. 
*Capital letter (A )   *full stop ( . )    *question mark ( ? )   *comma ( ' )
Now take out your English Language notebooks and do the work given below very neatly.
21.4.2020                      Punctuation

We should remember the following things about punctuations:

*A sentence always begins with a capital letter.
  eg. My mother is reading a book.
         
* A sentence ends with a full stop.
  eg. James is eating a candy.


* If a sentence asks a question, it ends with a question mark.
  eg. Can you lend me your pencil, please?

* If in a sentence there are more than two nouns we separate them by using a comma.
  eg. Tia had a pencil eraser and a ruler in her pencil box.

4th period - Math
LO - Learners will be able to:
*Identify the odd and even numbers.
*Write the odd or even numbers after the given numbers.

Boys, today we are going to do odd and even numbers in Math. Take out your Math notebooks and do the work given below.
21.4.20               Odd / Even Numbers
Remember:
*Odd numbers - If a number has 1 , 3 , 5 , 7 , 9 in the ones place, we say that the number is an odd number. An odd number cannot be divided into two equal groups. See the example below:

You can see above there are five triangles. Four triangles are in pairs but the last one is single. So, 5 is an odd number. Few examples of odd numbers:
1035 , 579 , 2691 ( Look at the ones place)

*Even numbers - If a number has 0 , 2 , 4 , 6 , 8 in the ones place, we say that the number is an even number. An even number can be divided into two equal groups. See the example below:

You can see above there are six triangles. All are in pairs. So, 6 is an even number. Few examples of even numbers:

5th period - CP ( Let's Respect Personal Space and Privacy )
LO - Learners will be able to:
*Read and remember a few points on personal space.
*Personal space refers to an area with invisible boundaries surrounding a person's body into which strangers may not come.
Read these quotes and a poem.













6th period - E.V.S.
LO - Learners will be able to:
*Read and understand the chapter.
*Differentiate between animals and human beings.

Boys today we are going to start  a new chapter in E.V.S. - Animals and Human Beings. 
Boys, first you need to understand that animals and human beings are part of the world since many many years. But animals have been living in this world even before humans. In this chapter we will understand about the differences and the features of humans and animals. Can you name some differences? You can also look at the picture of the animals in the chapter or your pet. What did you notice? Like a dog walks on 4 limbs but humans walk on 2 limbs( arms and legs). Think of more differences like this.
Now open page 155 in your reader, put the pointer finger on the words and read with me. Listen to the voice message sent by me.

H.W. - Do Q.1 on pg. 158 in the book itself.

7th period - Art (See Mrs. Sehgal's blog and comment)

8th period - English Literature
LO - Learners will be able to:
*Comprehend and write the answers.
Take out your English Literature notebooks and do the work given below:
21.4.20                The Kitten At Play
Answer the following questions:
Q.2 a. Where is the kitten?
Ans. The kitten is on the wall.

b. Where are the leaves falling from?
Ans. The leaves are falling from the elder - tree.

c. In the second stanza, the poet has used four words to describe what the kitten does when it wakes up. What are these four words?
Ans. The four words are:
        crouches , stretches , paws and darts
H.W. - Do Q.4 on pg. 20 in the book only in the blank space at the bottom of the page.

We have come to the end of the day.
New Words:
1. upright - sitting or standing with the back straight.
2. communicate - share information, news or ideas.
3. infancy - period of babyhood or early childhood.
